1. He talks to Best Friend about a mysterious “Part One of Lord of the Rings”, but cannot provide a good explanation as to what it really is.
2. He tells Best Friend to be sure not to miss 3rd July.
3. When asked what is happening on 3rd July, he says, “It’s a secret.”
4. He later concedes – under tremendous pressure and constant badgering – that the secret is Best Friend’s return to KL from out of state.
5. Best Friend does not arrive on 3rd July.
6. Best Friend calls him on eve of 3rd July, and he says, “Not yet, I’ll update you later.”
7. He quietly disappears during dinner to get something from the car.
8. He – uncharacteristically – wants to “walk around and look for a garden”.
9. He keeps his right hand in his pocket the whole time.
10. He seems nervous and is at a loss for words – for once.
Was I surprised? No and yes. No, because females are pretty good at the whole intuition thing, plus 10 other aforementioned reasons. Yes, because you can never be completely sure. I had 11 reasons to be prepared, and I can’t think of a single one why I wasn’t. Not really. And that is why it was so beautiful.
