I’m off to Europe for the first time in my life. Be back on 1 November. Till then, it’ll just be a camera, my Moleskine, a couple of black pens and me. Can’t wait.
Y and I are officially hooked on scuba diving after our recent Phuket trip. Here are some photos (neither of us in full gear and bubbles though):
Patong is all about shops and tourists. We couldn’t even find ourselves an authentic Thai meal because everything is steak, [...]
I like this pic – for soppy reasons. These kids were trying to persuade me to buy their wares for “one dollar”, and the little girl on the left demonstrated much entrepreneurial potential when she changed her tune from “three for one dollar” to “four from one dollar” after about three minutes of trailing [...]
Day 2: Angkor Thom, Bahkeng Mountain
More pretty lasses with hearts of stone. I wonder where they got all these stones to build all these temples from. And how they transported them.
Beautiful, isn’t it? This, Bayon Temple, is just one of a whole bunch of [...]
Day 2: Ta Prohm Temple
This was by far my favourite of the places we visited. It was just so amazing to see these massive trees growing out of roofs and into ancient temples. Now that I think about it, I never realised trees could be that destructive.

Day 2: Angkor Wat
It was only 9.30am when we arrived at Angkor Wat, but it was already pretty warm. Luckily for me, I love the sun. We were competing to see who would be the first to whinge about the heat or about all the walking. G lost. He [...]
When: 26-28 December
Where: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Why: I wanted to see Angkor Wat. Plus, I never turn down an opportunity to travel.
(I just realised there are way too many pictures for me to put them all up.)
(But I’ll try.)
Day 1: Tonle Sap
Just before we took this [...]
It was only fitting, on the precipice of a(nother) new chapter in my life, that we would turn this page with one last shot at that forbidden, unattainable dream: the life of a bum. It’s been 3 hours since we landed, and already, Redang feels so far away, which it is, like it’s in another [...]
Great about Bangkok in no particular order:
1. Places with cheap shopping.
2. My bag in mustard yellow and flip flops in brown (it’s true, that’s all I bought).
3. Our fantabulous hotel suite.
4. Watching Nip/Tuck Season Two (we brought dvds).
5. NaNoWriMo. The days of sitting in the [...]
It is 8 in the morning, I have been awake for 3 hours. You do the math. Jet-lag sucks. Unless it isn’t jet-lag but a mere result of sleeping almost throughout the entire 21 hour flight from New York and that 3 hour evening nap yesterday. I’m going to be a zombie by 2. [...]
