I had a spa pedicure today – my first pedicure of any kind since the week before my wedding in 2005. It’s been that long. I’m not very good at doing these girly upkeeps – my last manicure was also the day before my wedding – but I’ve been making an effort at getting semi-regular facials and the occasional massage. I’m partial to massages, I am.
So it was really nice to sit back and have my feet exfoliated and soaked, then get my toe nails done and my feet wrapped in paraffin wax (it helps with dryness apparently) and massaged. While my feet were soaking, I even got a scalp and shoulder massage. It was great.
Now I confess: it was for a work assignment. We’re doing a review of mani- and pedicures for a beauty spread and each of us girls in the editorial team got an outlet to review. We don’t often get major beauty perks as a celebrity and entertainment magazine so this is a rare treat. I would have also gotten a manicure, except manicures last mere hours on me and I was rushing home to watch the French Open semifinals.
The treatment lasted almost 90 minutes and cost RM120. I’m glad it was complimentary. I can only imagine Y’s reaction if I told him I’d forked out over a hundred bucks to… moisturise my feet.

ooh… nice new blog!
