Sunburst KL 2009: What international lineup?
Feeling exceedingly sociable, I attended the press conference earlier this evening. There have been lots of talk about the international lineup, rumours about Coldplay coming that are getting everybody all excited. The PR people have been working hard to ensure a good press conference turnout, so I decided to make a rare trip to Pavilion with CL and R.
I’ll say it right now: they didn’t announce Coldplay. The band has not been confirmed; in fact, the only international act that is confirmed is N.E.R.D. They released a list of local names, announced N.E.R.D., flashed a few photographs without names and then… nothing. That was it. You could see the surprise and disappointment on people’s faces, especially when they said more international acts will be announced at a subsequent press conference.
In other words: nothing else has been confirmed yet.
Which, although cutting it a bit close, is still okay I guess, if not for the fact that Early Bird tickets end this Sunday. Is the extra RM60 you have to fork out next week worth the risk of waiting to see if Coldplay comes? That was the question for many. Obviously, the organisers would prefer you to pay up first and wait and see…
