Hubby was doing his customary channel surfing when we came across an episode of Gossip Girl that we’d already seen.
Me: (Points to Carter) He’s rumoured to be going out with… what’s her name again?
Hubby: Who?
Me: Serena’s best friend.
Hubby: Blair.
Me: Yes, Blair. He’s rumoured to be going out with Blair.
[...]
…and then I went online within a half hour of getting home at 10.15pm.
It was one of those nights. Plus, Idol Gives Back was on in the office. It made me want to visit AIDS victims in Africa for myself. I’d probably cry and walk away [...]
Last night at around 10.45pm…
“What are you doing?” I called out from the bathroom.
I brushed my teeth.
I washed my face.
I got into PJs.
I got into bed.
(Where Y was on the laptop.)
I opened my book and began reading.
Long silence.
“I’m looking at cars,” Y said.
It was 11.10pm.

It appears talking in one’s sleep isn’t something that only I do (see this post). While I lapse into dreamland conversation with vague regularity these days, the following conversation took place two nights ago…
Y: (mumbles a name) is cock-eyed.
S: What did you say?
Y: (mumble mumble) is cock-eyed.
S: Who’s cock-eyed?
[...]
For two days now, I’ve been receiving calls from this place looking for someone we shall call A. I think it’s a photo centre or something, I don’t know, but the phone conversations go something like this:
Them: (in Mandarin) Hello, A?
Me: (in Mandarin) Pardon?
Them: A, please?
Me: Sorry, I think you have [...]
Some guy I’ve never seen before comes up to me at work yesterday and whispers, “Do you go to SIB?” (I say whisper because he really is very, very soft-spoken.)
“Yes,” I say, about 10 decibels louder. And almost as an afterthought, “Why?”
Turns out he was visiting SIB last Sunday and he recognized me. [...]
