Dearest Kaylin,
Happy 1st birthday! I can’t believe it’s been a year already since you arrived. It doesn’t feel like all that long ago when mummy was scuba diving (which I haven’t done in a long time) and going out at night (which these days are few and far in between). I can honestly [...]
The days of fuss-free feeding are over. Kaylin has started solids. I can hardly believe it, but she’s already six months old.
One of the benefits of breastfeeding is you have no cleaning up to do. Unless a pump and expressed milk are involved, which happens only when I go in to the office, [...]
Did I tell you hubby wants Kaylin to become a rock star? (A dad can dream.) This is one of our favourite outfits for her, matched with one of our favourite expressions on her. My mother-in-law mentioned the other day that not many Chinese parents dress their babies in black, which only pleased Y [...]
Kaylin doesn’t laugh out loud very often and she certainly hasn’t laughed so much since I took this video. Just four months old and she already knows not to repeat a trick. Happy Monday, everyone!
Our timing was a little unfortunate the day we brought Kaylin to her first wedding reception. She’d been out for much of the day, had refused to nap properly, and was really cranky by the time we got to the reception venue. It didn’t help that everyone wanted to meet her at the same [...]
When Kaylin was just 12 days old, I took this photo and declared her a chip off the old block. Now, four months on, it seems she hasn’t just inherited her daddy’s looks and expressions, she’s also got his adventurous spirit (hopefully) and his strong will (uh oh). Here’s my current favourite photo [...]
After four months of hopeful optimism (read: delusion), I have finally come to terms with the fact that the thrice-weekly gym sessions I endured enjoyed throughout my pregnancy are very much a thing of the past. These days, I’d be lucky to get any “me” time before 11pm and since I do not fancy [...]
When I was pregnant, I told myself Kaylin would be my opportunity to discover the world through a baby’s eyes. I wanted to marvel at her every milestone and share in her excitement at every new discovery. Then she arrived, and for the first six weeks or so, nothing happened. She slept, she ate, she [...]
This is probably one of those photos that, if my daughter ever ends up in therapy, will be pinpointed as the source of whatever reason Kaylin is seeing a shrink in the first place. I don’t know why that comes to mind. Must be her slightly… traumatised expression.
