I should have put on my seatbelt before I left the petrol station, but home was 30 seconds away and I was in a hurry. I didn’t see the cop until I’d passed him and by then I knew it was too late. His partner pulled me over some 10m ahead.

I am now officially a criminal. My mother received three warrants threatening arrest if I don’t pay up my parking tickets within 14 days. Suffice to say, she freaked out. My fines will be paid today. At least, the three that led to those warrants. (The pending 3 will have to wait.)
