The fairytale wedding… continued
I shouldn’t have bothered staying up for it on Friday night. Channel 7 was only too pleased to show it again on Saturday afternoon. Has anyone been keeping track of this mega-event or is it just me and my curiosity?
The wedding was hardly the most entertaining television event of the year, compounded perhaps, by the fact that the service was conducted in Danish (or some other foreign language). But her dress with its 6 metre long train was beautiful, as was the sight of Prince Federik with tears in his eyes when the music began to play just before she walked down the aisle.
My sister, like many other girls around the world I’m sure, was just completely jealous that Mary found her Crown Prince in a Sydney bar. Her top five remarks of the weekend were:
5. “I can’t believe he cried before he even saw her.”
4. “No one understands, I’m so jealous I could cry.”
3. “If I ever find out that I met royalty in a bar and dissed him, I’m seriously going to kill myself.”
2. “You’d think after all the bars I’ve been to, I could have found myself a prince as well.”
1. “Go away.” (When her boyfriend sms-ed her in the middle of a “I-want-to-marry-a-prince” session.)
Her sentiments were probably echoed around Australia, if not half the world.
